All suggestions are intended to assist you during your 12-Day Prodigal Prayer Mission for your favorite lost or wayward soul. Should the Holy Spirit lead you in additional prayer or other tasks, always follow that leading first. He knows what each one needs.

The Mission is to believe and expect that your Prayer Mission people will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior or be reconciled again to Him. It is your responsibility to pray for them, but commit to leaving timing and results to the Lord. We encourage you to be persistent in prayer and not waiver or doubt that God can move in their lives in some way.

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:8

During your mission, you will plant seeds of Life over your prodigal. Keep your faith strong and most of all believe that something will change.

This your “mission”, should you decide to accept it, read on.

    Day 1: Worship

    Meditate on Jeremiah 29:7, 11-13

    • Glorifying God for who He is (Psalm 90:1-2)
    • Thanking God for what He’s done, is doing and promises to do through this Prayer Mission (Psalm 91)
    • Praising God for His careful and individual concern for your life
    • Letting your heart overflow with the joy of His promises (Psalm 145:13)

    1. “Praising God for His careful and individual concern for your life”

My heart is in awe at how the Lord loves me…out of the billions of people in this world….HE chooses me. He hears my prayers, he KNOWS me and yet He LOVES me!

He chooses YOU and he adores HIS prodigals!

I’m praying today – and worshiping HIM as the mighty miracle worker that He is!!

    2. I need to live with these verses from Jeremiah but I don’t. I have BIG abandonment issues and I passed them on to my daughter by leaving her mom when she was only 3 years old. Now my daughter is abandoning everyone, including me in a desperate attempt to reconcile to hear fear of abandonment.

For me, I rarely think of any father, including God the Father, as wanting good things for me. I think fathers observe you closely waiting to bring pain into your life. I need a renewing of my mind on this topic.

Father, please help my daughter to see You as wanting wonderful things for her and forgive me where I have fallen short and propagated this generational sin.

    3. In the original Jewish story of Jesus’ time, a son came back home after living wrong and squandering everything. When the Father sees him, he parades the son in front of the whole town, shaming him and saying “this is my son who squandered his inheritance”. The town then threw the Father a party for holding up the justice of God.
When Jesus tells the story in Luke 15, he changes the ending (as he did on the cross). He illustrates the mercy of God triumphing over justice.
Father, give every prodigal the ability to see your mercy and love. Bring them to their senses. Draw them home. Protect them with angels until they see and respond. Help each of us to not lose heart. To stay in faith not walking by sight but trusting that you are at work because of your great love. Thank you Father – give each of us a revelation of you as a good father too. Help us to see you clearly. Amen.

    4. Jeremiah 29:11-13…woooo, will meditate on those scriptures over my brother James. The things he is involved in right now makes me feel like this is not my baby brother. But I also know its demonic.

Father in the name of Jesus, our thoughts are not your thoughts and our ways are not your ways. You said to lean not to our own understanding. I may not understand what is going on with my brother James but you do. Lift up a standard against this influence he is over. Be his deliver and deliver him in Jesus name.

I also touch and agree with all those participating in this that you will meet the need and have praise report after praise report as You will get the glory Lord, in Jesus name.

    5. Lord, I agree with all the prayerful pleas stated here. We offer our prodigals to You. Lord, please protect them and draw them to You, heal them.

I have struggled with BIG trust & fear issues all my life, and held my children back from freely embracing faith because of it.

I have no clear point of reference for the word Father, as described in scripture. Its a struggle to picture Him as one who embraces and cares for me personally. I am stretching my hand out a little further each day, praying that one day I will feel secure that He is indeed holding me.

I pray that as I continue to let go and allow myself to experience that love, His light will be reflected through me, and my precious prodigals will be drawn towards His love.

Protect and heal each hurting heart brought before you here.

    7. My prodical is my husband. We have been married a little of 5yrs. Its a strange situation in that my prodical is a minister who claims that he wants to get closer to God and be obediant. Yet, he wants a divorce because he does not believe the marriage was blessed by God. I am his 5th wife and there is another woman that he has a strong connection to. He has been very unloving for 5yrs. Yet there are times when we seem to be so connected to each other and we just have a blast together. But the minute something goes against him, he bails. He is either strongly influenced by demons or possessed. Its hard to tell which one. I continue to pray for his mind and his salvation. I am really scared that he is going off the deep in.

    8. The initial attraction we feel in a relationship is sometimes mistaken for love. Many men fall for this lie unfortunately.

The beauty of a longer term relationship is that you learn to love someone after the rush and excitement of new attraction.

Lord, protect Brook and her husband, surround them with your angels, protect them from the enemy, and give their eyes new sight.
